Dr Wendy Fun Li Ling

Dr Wendy Fun Li Ling is a Consultant Anaesthesiologist and the Group Anaesthesiologist at SportsIn. She provides anaesthesia and pain management for patients undergoing orthopaedic and sports-related procedures with the group’s specialists across Gleneagles, Farrer Park, Mount Elizabeth Novena and Mount Alvernia.

With more than 13 years of experience, Dr Wendy previously served for six years as a Consultant Anaesthesiologist at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital before moving into private practice. She provides general anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia and sedation for a range of procedures, from day surgery to longer and more complex operations. Her clinical interests include obstetric and high-risk obstetric anaesthesia, as well as acute pain management.

Dr Wendy graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and subsequently completed her Master of Medicine in Anaesthesiology. She also undertook further training in ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia in Perth, Western Australia. This technique allows anaesthetic medication to be delivered precisely around specific nerves to help manage pain during and after surgery.

Alongside her clinical work, Dr Wendy is actively involved in medical education. She is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and a Clinical Teacher at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, where she teaches and mentors trainee anaesthesiologists and medical students. She is also a member of the Association of Women Doctors Singapore.

Dr Wendy has presented at local and international medical meetings and contributed to publications on anaesthetic techniques and patient safety.

Before surgery, Dr Wendy takes time to understand each patient’s medical needs and concerns. She explains the recommended anaesthetic plan, answers their questions and guides them through what to expect before, during and after the procedure.
